I see this so clearly in my own home.
I’ve had the honor of watching my husband be a father for the past 16 years to our three children, and it brings me such pride and joy. Our son calls him “Bro Dad” because of their unbreakable bond—they do everything together, like best friends and teammates. Our daughters, well, they think he’s the coolest person in the entire family (and yes, I admit, I get a little jealous when I hear that!). But the truth is—he is an incredible dad. He’s funny, wise, compassionate, and filled with strength. He gives the kind of advice that sticks with you, and he shows up in love, always.
When I think about him, I’m thankful. I thank God for placing someone so solid and full of heart in our lives.
Then I think about all the other dads I know—my own father, who at 89 years strong, is still going and still full of wisdom. My father-in-law, now resting in heaven, whose legacy I see in my husband’s every move. My cousins, my nephews, our friends—I see in each of them a unique strength that the world so desperately needs. These men, whether still here or gone before us, have shaped families, changed lives, and shown the world what it means to love deeply.
The Bible reminds us of a father’s calling:
“The righteous man walks in his integrity; his children are blessed after him.” – Proverbs 20:7
God sees you. He equips you. He knows that being a father—whether by blood or by heart—is no small task. He calls you to love with patience, lead with wisdom, and serve with humility.
And to every man who has helped raise, guide, and inspire a child who wasn’t their own—your role in the village is sacred too. Love like yours doesn’t go unnoticed.
